A new chapter in human deep-sea energy development! The world's largest floating wind power platform "Mingyang Tiancheng" is officially put into operation![]() "Mingyang Tiancheng" was independently developed by Mingyang Group. It is the world's first to carry two 8.3 MW offshore wind turbines on a floating foundation, with a total installed capacity of 16.6 MW. It is currently the world's largest floating wind power platform. The platform has a total displacement of about 15,000 tons. It is put into operation at the Mingyang Yangjiang Qingzhou Si offshore wind farm, about 70 kilometers offshore and 45 meters deep. It is expected to provide about 54 million kWh of green electricity each year, which can meet the daily electricity needs of 30,000 households of three for one year. Different from the traditional wind turbine structure, the two wind turbines of "Mingyang Tiancheng" stand side by side, and the two wind rotors rotate in opposite directions. This design increases the wind speed in the middle area of the impeller, and the electric energy converted from the kinetic energy of the air also increases accordingly, which increases the power generation by 4.29% compared with a single large wind turbine with the same wind sweeping area. At the same time, this design also brings new challenges to debugging.
Rigorous testing work runs through the entire process of wind turbine development and installation, making new explorations for the key debugging technologies of subsequent deep-sea floating wind power platforms. The "Mingyang Tiancheng" has been fully verified in the software environment of all working conditions and the hardware-in-the-loop environment of characteristic working conditions. It can simulate the operation of wind power platforms and hardware in real environments or partially real environments, and can effectively ensure the reliability of wind turbines in actual applications. After the installation of the offshore position is completed, in the absence of external power support, the "Mingyang Tiancheng" uses the jointly pioneered "black start" technology - using its own energy and control system to complete the start-up and operation of the wind turbine, thereby achieving idling debugging. ![]() |
