On September 10, the results of the selection of "Typical Cases of Dual Carbon Technology Innovation" jointly initiated by China Energy News and China Energy Economics Research Institute were announced, and the world's largest floating wind power platform "Mingyang Tiancheng" independently developed by Mingyang Smart Energy was successfully selected.
"Mingyang Tiancheng" has achieved many world firsts. The two towers are arranged in a "V" shape and carry two 8.3 MW offshore wind turbines with a total capacity of 16.6 MW, which can be used in a wide range of sea areas around the world with a water depth of more than 35 meters. Its floating foundation is the world's first to use ultra-high performance concrete materials with a compressive capacity of more than 115 MPa, and its strength is about 4 times that of ordinary concrete. The "fiberglass shell + XPS core material + protective coating material" solution used in the buoy is also a world first, breaking through the limitations of traditional buoys using pure steel structures or steel-concrete structures. In addition, the design of airfoil-shaped double towers, dual main engines, and dual wind rotors, as well as the application of cable systems are all world firsts.
So far, the "Ming Yang Tian Cheng" has completed its offshore installation and will be connected to the grid for power generation after commissioning. After the platform is officially put into operation, it can generate an average of about 54 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per year, which can meet the daily electricity needs of 30,000 families of three for one year.
